Yes they are. Sound Taxi, WMA Convert, and Tunebite are all the same
program. Be careful when buying because the licenses are keyed to one
computer and you can not install them on a second one.

You have to deposit some money first, but there is no set amount. There is
no subscription cost. Songs cost a couple of cents per meg.

If you have questions about the .mp3 plug-in with SF8 read the release
notes. Details are there for registering the .mp3 plug-in and making it
full featured. I didn't save a copy and haven't run in to the problem yet.
Also, if your file is 22,050 Hz and you want to save it with a higher
quality
The Prody Parit program which comes with some Creative Labs sound cards
uses the text assist program and it is usable with windows XP. You can
install just the text assist speech and pass on the parot.

There are no scripts required by power dvd. It works great.
Unfortunately the labels for the chapters are pictures and no screen reader
will read them what ever screen reader you use. Every function is available
by either hot key or menu.

Software is even more inaccessible than SoundBlaster and responsiveness is
worse.
My suggestion is try something else.

I created some MP3 files in Sound Forge 6. While they are open in SF they
play fine. When I open them in anyother program such as Real Player the
last two seconds are cut off.
