When I went into the menus, he didn't see the menus like you normally do.
Unless he went into them, he did see some, and then he just saw some options
right out on the main menu. Which he has told me is the case now with my
DM-420. I tried the software, there's no option to restore the unit to

Aha! So I was right then. That means this unit suffered the same fate as my
DM-420. It got formatted. So what now? My nephew says there aint such an
option. Pluss the menu structur you speak of is gone.

It's in the "display and sound" menu, the sixth choice; once in the display and
sound menu, go down 5 times to voice guidance setting, press button to go in
and button again to choose on and off setting. Then up or down to on and off,
