Hello Sylvia and list: Yes..I figured it was something like that; I also
suspect (hope I'm wrong)..that they only work for as long as the server
they're on still has it; in other words, if that particular show were still
being archived, I could play it! But since it's not..well..I might be "ou

Simple! the programme starts recording the show at the scheduled time. Suppose
you're out having a cup of tea or whatever and you return 5 minutes later to
only find that the show's been going for the last 3 minutes, you can press the
"Play" button to hear what's already been recorded over thos
Hi Tom,
I did a search for this file type, and I got two possible matches.
The first entry says audio advanced streaming format, and the second
possibility is that it may be a windows media audio redirector. As for
playing the file, I'm not sure what to suggest.

Hi list: This may be considered a stupid question by some on here..but am
gonna ask it anyway: what (exactly)..is a "WAX" file? Here's my reason for
asking: a little while back, I managed to save something (or at least I thought
I was saving it)..the program in question was a show that had bee
Did you look at the daisy.org web sight? They have some pretty good free tools
there. I used to know some but I haven't fooled with daisy for a few years.
Of course, if you want to try it, you could go to aph.org and download their

Is anyone aware of an open source solution that will allow me to convert
a series of m p 3 and wave files, and compile them into the digital book

First, if I were you I would quit saying that Jtunes was anywhere near $1000.
In fact, though I don't use Jaws, I happen to know that Jtunes is just a set of
Jaws scripts, and though I haven't checked the price lately, I would be
surprised if it were near $100. Secondly, if you are saying you
Another approach to consider is balanced lines. There is a lot on the
web about the technology if you wish to read up on it. The basic
concept is to use a center tapped transformer at both ends of the line
which nulls out any interfearance that occurs between the two
transformers. I often run 10
High Tim,
I know that I am right because I have tried all of those things out, they
are a pain in the rear.
ITunes by itself, is not blind user friendly.
There are allot of things that Jaws just won't let you pick up.
This is why you need JTunes.
But like I said, that peace of software cost $100
Maybe your screenreading software was crashing because it was jaws, because I
have been using the software under windows and mac os for over a year no
problem. Since the software is totally accessible under window-eyes and
voiceover I can only feel sorry for jaws users who are missing out on an

because of your ignorance of Jtunes and or Itunes, certainly the Airport
Express, which puts all of the transmitters that I've tried to shame.
