I need some good suggestions for accessible software so I can stream

Hi all
Just curious - has anyone ever used the microphone input on the plextalk
ptr2? I find it extremely soft when using a sennheiser dynamic microphone.
Would it be better to make use of some kind of preamp perhaps?

Installed winamp 541 on a friends Dell computer.
I also installed the ACB radio tuner.
