Very well said Bob. The format wars are further complicated by the fact that
the US is using a different standard from the predominant digital radio
standard in the rest of the world although they are trying hard to get other
countries interested.
This seems to me like cell phones all over again.
There's an edit field where you put your e-mail address to get data about
your songs and what you want is right in that area. I don't have program
installed.

If anyone knows, please let me know.
Another great thing about winamp is that it puts all of the tracks for an album
in a folder with the album's title.

It used to be that you could choose which data base you used to identify
tracks in CDEX. Is it still true?

I can't rip at all with winamp so I can't tell you any pros or cons. It just
gives me a playlist and that's it.
Take care all.

Hey Guys,
I have found that Winamp does a better job of finding title and artist info for
cds then CDEX does. For certain things that I am trying to rippe, winamp makes
my life so much easier. My concern is though, will it do as good as a job as
cdex? I am ripping to mp3s at 320. I set winam
the easiest way is to bring it up in gold wave and do a save as
change the file type and set your attributes.

Brad,
To be honest, probably the simplest way is through windows media player. It
won't play them off the shelf, but once you've downloaded and installed the
xp codek pack from free codeks, it works fine.

Control p form main windows, select output from the treeview (in the level
under plugins) then tab twice you should get to list of plugins, arrow to
the one you want and hit enter, or tab and then space to configure it if you
want to do that.

Hi,
What is the easiest freeware/shareware program to use to play DVD's on a pc?
I'm asking on someone else's behalf... Someone, who doesn't do well with
access-related complications... So, it would have to be really simple...
Any ideas?

Posting this to two lists, but not off-topic for either.
I've used Winamp for some time and am now using 5.5 something. I'm
being driven mad by its compulsion to go off and try and find a track

cases.) What can I do to stop it doin
That's the problem, i am not seeint an output or an input plugin. I
am thinking of doing a re-install, cause i think there was a problem
with it. One of the things i see it says missing files.
That indicates to me there is an issue.
