Yes i am aware of that configuration and it is what i use.
I now see that restarting batman-adv is done by restarting the network
which means that the change was intentional.

You can always use vmware or virtualbox in your current operating system
and then either install debian there or run it from a live cd.

I use quite a few of these Dlink routers. In specific the 600A1, 601A
615c1, e1, e3 and e4.
In my experience i have them all with AA flashed directly thought the
web interface but the E versions do need a little tweak.
E1 - E4 works with Backfire (Works with DIR-600 rev. A1 firmware)*, LEDs

My mesh uses mostly dlink and tplink (ar71xx moslty athk9) and i am now
working with AA r38315 to deploy new firmware by the end of the year and
these news are serious concerning.I will be testing
The current firmware in the mesh is DISTRIB_REVISION="r35241" and i have
no problems with HT20 or HT4
I have the exact same issue with some tplink and dlink routers and soon
to test on a TL-WR841N/ND v8.
Regarding the dlink i found differences and gaining 1dBm when changing
the country code to US.
Also some time ago as i played with txpower; at moments it would
actually go to 20dBm but after restar
older
revision of AA.

This new problem does not happen with current stable AA mac80211 and
hostapd.

I would also like to know if anyone else is using the same AA revision

Not at the moment. Horst is not detecting IBSS splits and i have ran
several iperf tests in order to abuse all the avalable bandwidth between
routers. I am however still running tests.

I have found the problem and "some package" was broken on the system
used to compile the images.
I also upgraded cmake and the problem seems to be gone now as netifd is
back to 45k size.

Although it would be good to have this hardware supported aren't we all
