Just for the record, had the same issue with madwifi a month ago.
In my case, there was even some rogue/broken other wifi device
which was sending probe requests every 5ms, resulting in a
congested medium due to my 4 devices in adhoc mode trying to
answer them all. A workaround for me
in ibss/adhoc mode, i can see sometimes a lot of
probe-responses (storms), which is not needed. is there
a way to omit this? with the oldsk00l whiterussian
firmware/hacked wl-driver, there was a ff_noprobe=1
fix to get this... 8-)
