I got an old board with u-boot(1.0.0) and linux(2.4.19) binaries and

Which board do you have? Is it one of the Atmel evaluation boards?
I can download u-boot and linux binaries to the board through serial and
it works, but documents are not very detailed, do not mention

I am not sure you are really going to find too many interesting devices
without MMU's
I am sure you will find devices without MMU's would probably in any case
not have the horsepower for sophisticated routing apps.
