See why tun does not load. Loda it by hand 'modprobe'. Do a
'rpmverify openssl-devel-0.9.7a-20' and so on to check your packages
and so on. There's something wrong with your system. For me it worked
without any problems with Mandrake 8.2,
e 's/^LDADD =/LDADD = -static -lssl -lcrypto -lkrb5 -lk5crypto
-lresolv -lcom_err/' Makef
ile
#
%{__make} %{?_smp_mflags}
--- cut ---
It worked (openvpn --test-crypto --secret mysecret) on FC3t1, FC2, FC1 and
Mandrake 8.2.

t a big red line on the page, so everybody
sees the good news! I never used a configuration without port explictly
specified, so I think/hope this will have almost no impact to anyone.
I wish to you and openvpn many successes like this one!

e is needed up to work, maybe...?

This way the 'real' configuration, except giving users the right to
start/stop the vpn tunnel, is kept in openvpn's config file, but leaves
a root for managing with distro's specific configuration tool(s) or by
hand. Fedora's system-config-netw
me}.init %{buildroot}/etc/init.d/%{name}
%else
%__install -c -d -m 755 %{buildroot}/etc/rc.d/init.d
%__install -c -m 755 sample-scripts/%{name}.init
%{buildroot}/etc/rc.d/init.d/%{name}
%endif
--- cut ---
should be just one line :)
--- cut ---
%__install -c -d -m 755 %{buildroot}%{_initrddi
(ops... I missed openvpn-devel, sorry)

but maybe Applications/Internet (/usr/share/doc/rpm-*/GROUPS is refered
as source for groups in fedora), but this is not a big problem... Maybe
I'm too pedantic and there's another %if is not needed?

it's privileges. Imagine what happends if any user can create such device
and start sending packets!
SSH can be used to pipe std{in,out,err}, forward ports and emulate
SOCKS proxy, but that's another story... maybe that's what you need?
