I use aliases of the bridge device instead. So instead of eth0:0, eth0:1, I have br0:0, br0:1, etc. Works fine for me. I have a startup script that sets up the interfaces and starts OpenVPN. It starts the bridge between eth0 and tap0, then adds aliases to the new br0 interface. Works fi
