We do have a fairly full-fledged CMDB in house that keeps tracks of all our
infra and apps. Unfortunately none of that team is going to be able to make it
to the Summit, but I’m trying to have someone do a demo remotely and
participate on EtherPad.

I suggest building a new AZ (“region” in OpenStack parlance) in the new
location. In general I would avoid setting up control plane to operate across
multiple facilities unless the cloud is very large.

Here are two key reasons why we chose to bite the bullet and operationalize
Ceilometer at work:
1. Stable set of APIs for tenants to access and publish metrics and alarms
2. An unobtrusive way for providers to collect
