Is it possible to filter out VMs by specifying the IP address in nova CLI? If
yes, can I get to know the command?
I tried nova list --ip= but this doesn't seem to work. Can
somebody suggest any pointers to get rid of the problem?

I looked in to forums about recovering VMs in OpenStack ESSEX. In the
dashboard, I could see that the VMs status is "Hard rebooting" with power state
Shutoff. In virsh, I could see that the state is Shutoff. The complete process
is taking longer time to finish and I assume it is in

I have an OpenStack setup based on Havana with several compute nodes. When I
instantiate a virtual machine with 1 or more virtual cores, in the process list
of the compute node, I am able to see more than 1 process associated to the
same VM. The process list that I refer is the proc

Let me make my earlier email more precise. For a VM that has 1 virtual core, I
am able to see 3 processes in total, probably 1 process per virtual core. Can I
kindly know the purpose of other two processes?

screenshot of a VM named "instance-01bf" that has 4 virtual cores. In

I upgraded the operating system of one of the compute nodes in our cloud
infrastructure from Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04 and after the upgradation, I found
that the nova-compute and network service were not started. The network
configuration in our Havana setup is based on FlatDHCP manager
rror which displays "No device found".
