Hi guys.
After amazon dropped its prices among other things, on S3 its seems that i
need in my compaƱy to justify/analyze if swift keeps being the most cost
convenient solution (we have it in house)
When we decided going with swift one year ago, one of the main constraints

Hi guys,
In the company i work for we are running openstack essex into
production among other things, and want ceilometer to run "standalone"
on the compute node, is there a chance to run ceilometer compute agent
and not collector to log on files locally in the compute for me to
analyze this data ?

That kind of discussion is think is the most relevant one.
What are the experiences of running the backing files locally on the
same compute where vms are running ?

Hi guys ...
We have a pretty big openstack environment and we use a shared NFS to
populate backing file directory ( the famous _base directory located
on /var/lib/nova/instances/_base ) due to a human error, the backing
file used by thousands of guests was deleted, causing this guests to
go read-on
It was not a rootkit, and we couldnt get any traffic captures during the
problem.
Maybe some compute's bridge causing some loop in that specific VLAN ?
Any thoughts ?

We have a 9-nodes galera cluster into production, and we purge the database
issuing a query every midnight.
As how galera works, you only need to run the query against just one node.

Well, its been a long time since we use nova with KVM, we got over the many
thousand vms, and still, something doesnt feel right.
We are using ubuntu 12.04 kernel 3.2.0-[40-48], tuned sysctl with lots of
parameters, and everything ... works, you can say, quite well.

Hi guys, we have just one question.
Since we are already traveling our way into deploying havana release for
early 2014, we were stuck under the deep questioning of the identity api
v3.X.
Since we are using the access to keystone v2.0 identity api a lot, even
from lots of in-house developments, we
