Hi John,
thanks for your careful answer. I just backed from vacation, too and
wish you have had a good time.
I have been reading these documents again and again to check if I missed
something. My current understanding is: when I have two NIC, I should
configure xenbr0 and xenbr1 as default.
Didn't realize that its the nova-api which provides ec2 compatibility
layer. Solved.

Hi all,
Due to some requirements, I have to modify openstack source code in order
to let the name of the instance (in Xen Server) equal to the hostname of
the instance (chosen by the user).
Is it possible to do that by only configuring openstack? If yes, could you

Hi,
I am using the Quantum on Folsom release, does it still support auto assign
floating ip to a vm just list the nova-network did?
If the answer is yes, how to implement it?

Thanks Salvatore, that's what I suspected. I noticed the subnet
host_routes does the dhcp trick, but that does not help me, since the
route out is in public network, not in guest network. I wonder if there
are any plans toward adding extra routes to quantum router? Otherwise I

Hi Ilkka,
you can associate host routes with a subnet. This will cause the dhcpagent
to send an option 121 (classless-host-route) in the DHCPOFFER packet, thus
configuring VM's route table.
However, we do not support at the moment configuration of custom routes
inside a logical router. The logical

This is very interresting material and i don't know why it wasn't
mentionned in the demo guide !
Anyway, i managed to get access my VMs from the internet but my VMs

This should be the gateway that external network traffic should be

Hi everyone,
I've successfully installed keystone(folsom release), glance and swift. I'm
able to create the ec2 credentials for any user, but keystone daemon isn't
listening on port 8773.
I've configured services and endpoints appropriately to point to url

Hello,
I have some questions about the quantum demo install found here :

the Folsom pre-release Feature Freeze in September.
You can see the full list of new features and fixed bugs, as well as
