EVP problems with 0.9.7

u can do with 0.9.6. Will this new behaviour persist into the 0.9.7 release, and if so, what is the recommended way to use the EVP layer where you have multiple messages to encrypt/decrypt with one key, while carrying forward the residual IV across messages? Thanks, James
