I started with both new fresh tar ball starts.
It has nothing to do with make clean first.

I am successful at building a STATIC library...but shared library build fails.
gmake[3]: Entering directory `/junk/openssl-0.9.7e'
+ rm -f libcrypto.so.0
+ rm -f libcrypto.so
+ rm -f libcrypto.so.0.9.7
libs='-L. '; for i in crypto; do \
if [ "crypto" = "ssl" -a -n "" ]; then \
libs=" $libs"
I used GNUmake
Possibly stupid question but were you using GNU Make to build this or
Solaris Make?

I am running a

/usr/lib/sasl2/libdigestmd5.so.2: Undefined symbol "DES_ede3_cbc_encrypt"
I do not see this under Openssl 0.9.6 and there wanted to make sure there
was no known issue with cyrus 2.1.10 and Openssl 0.9.7 ?
Help?!

random on there.
Any good suggestions? (without modifying the kernel)
I have setup egd.pl and it is pointed to /var/run/egd-pool but I cant seem
to get openssl to see that (even if I specify -rand) ?
