Last time I checked Apple kit wasn't any cheaper than similar spec'd out Sun box. Could you please provide direct references so we can see what you are looking at. Also be mindful of support levels, warranty, supportability and so on. Sun support their boxes for longer than any other vendor I h

Allow me to piggyback on this. We have a couple of applications that we must use in our enterprise that run on Solaris 10. Normally we've used Sun servers, but I can get an even better equipped Xserve from Apple for about half the price. Would it work to wipe the boot drive on the Xserve and
