Just incase there was any doubt, the free CrossOver PRO v8 (unsupported, so
free) for OpenSolaris/Solaris x86 works like a treat with 2009.06 and normal
applications.
Ive installed a few applications atop the 'officially supported' list, most
notably, SqlYog, and Outlook 2003 works brilliantly.

Hi,
Has anyone successfully used OpenOffice in OpenSolaris for reading and
*writing* documents on a Windows Share with Active Directory access ?
It always crashes my OpenOffice apps - I have to save locally and then copy
across to the Windows Share via a Windows Share mount.
Anyone else experi
After reading people's comments it's worth noting that there will always be two
conflicting camps to the sort of event that Oracle's purchase of Sun has been;
1) those who see doom'n'gloom
2) those who are excited and/or enthusiastic

Hi all,
Ive recently moved to using OpenSolaris (2009.06 - damn! - just saw the forum
post about 2010.03 - anyhoo's) on my work laptop. I need to run WinXp under
VirtualBox for some .net programs.
Anyway, Ive been playing with Evolution quite a bit because the company I work
for operates all e
