XServe?
XServe's come with Leopard Server.
Leopard Server has Dtrace and ZFS (
http://www.mac4ever.com/news/27485/zettabyte_sur_leopard/ )
If OpenSolaris does run on the XServe , it would be very interesting to read
a review of it.

It looks like a bug.
Is the "svn" command in b78 known to be broken?

Hi everyone,
I was able to compile qt 4.3 on my SXDE box at.
For those who are interested (or those who are into qt programming, but

The NVIDIA/ATI drivers work off-the-DVD even when used as a live DVD/
You can play a quake-clone 3D fps shooter, right off the DVD.
Infact the DVD offers a "Play Game" option right in

All we need is compiz + Aqua theme for GNOME + Some good code (GTK)
So why dont we bang our heads, come up with some ideas and get started

Hi Richard,
I get the feeling you want a guarantee that you'll always get everything
possible, and yet will still be able to have as much influence as possible
on content and direction. Maybe it's just me, but I think that when someone

HI Eric,
OpenSolaris, on June 15th 2005, was Solaris code that Sun
made open source, thereafter OpenSolaris is OpenSolaris
Community code[1].
Just one doubt though.
Say SUN introduces some package X into the ON core.
Or say into JDS /SFW *after* June 15th 2005.
Do those code changes make it

Maybe things are being overcomplicated here. Partly because of the official

Hi Manoj,
Was this CentOS 3?
Yup. I used the tarball which is available from the OpenSolaris community.
I really want to get RHEL4 up and running on my solaris box, inside a

Has someone done that? Can anyone give me some pointers as to how to
do it?

Hi everyone,
Could we have XFCE/KDE in the next OpenSolaris build?
Both of them work on OpenSolaris.
KDE 3.4.3 has been built using Sun Studio.
It would be great for KDE users (like me) or other XFCE users (I am sure
there must be some)
KDE is good for the power users , IMHO (I have no intention
Hi All,
Pardon me if you find this question stupid. I am a linux user. I
installed SXDE and frankly love it.
I am using it as my primary OS on my home pc.
I find it stable enough for my needs.
How stable is b62 compared to SXDE?
I am trying to build KDE for BeleniX. Is it a good enough platform

Hi All,
I wanted to use GVIM 7.0 with GTK.
I use SXDE and I note that gvim 6.3 is present in /opt/SUNWspro/contrib/vim/
But:
1) It's version 6.3
2) It is compiled with xlibs, not with GTK , making it look very ugly.
Has anyone compiled GVIM 7.0 with GTK on SXDE/SXCE ?
If yes is there a package
