So I am wanting to do what the subject says. I'd like to transfer my current
install of opensolaris 2008.11 from the slow USB drive it's currently running
on, over to the newly purchased SATAII SDD drive.

I am trying to create a shared public folder that a number of users
can all use, this will eventually be exported via CIFS.
My overall goal is twofold -
1) Any user can create a folder or file at any level under /public.
2) A folder or file can ONLY be deleted by the owner.

Have started playing with OpenSolaris 8.11 which I downloaded recently and have
had some success. My goal is to build an iSCSI target for a number of other
servers/users. So far, I have managed to set up a basic zfs iscsi share that
my Mac can access, format and use which is great.

The ipfilter answer would be
/etc/ipnat.conf entries
rdr qlge0 qlge0_ip/32 port src_port -> target_ip port dst_port tcp
map qlge0 qlge1_net/netmask -> qlge0_ip/32
Of course svcs -vx ipfilter has to say its online and ok. depending on which
snv_rev you are running 112+ now has a svc.ipfd parent

Hi - I just installed OS 2008 svn_111a on memory stick in
Acer Aspire One.
First, I can't register for some reason. I end up getting a
server error from Sun with no indication of the problem.
I've been trying for 2 days.
Second, I can't install any packages,e.g., SUNWgcc and SUNWgmake.

Having run a VIA Epia SN 1GHz as my zfs home storage and I am looking for a
