I am able to install the GlassFish java server on Solaris 10 update 4 (plse see
the attached screenshot). The procedure is indeed very straightforward--all I
had to do was to just follow the instructions.

Brian,
As Dennis indicates Blastwave.org has been providing systems of
various forms to developers for a long time, and as Shawn points
out, Sun, via the testing community is getting close to finishing the
development of a test farm and self-service testing. Both these
projects are currently seeki

Hello,
I would like to propose an OpenSolaris project RDMA
(Remote Direct Memory access) offload framework to
support iWARP (Internet Wide Area RDMA Protocols).
The RDMA Offload Framework (ROF) will provide Solaris support
for offloaded iWARP (set of protocols/programming models

It seems no one is providing this service to the OpenSolaris
community. If I am correct in the fact that this service doesn't
exist, and if there is enough interest, there is a very good chance
that I will be able to find a way to this service available to the
community.

Sounds like the right thing to do... So, what would it take to make this
happen? Is it technically feasible, and how could we help?

future). After installation, this notebook (with nVidia go 6150) would boot

Yes, this is the source for the guest OS tools. Note that kernel components
are included for Linux, but not (yet) for Solaris or FreeBSD. The user level
components should work in Solaris. Also most of the user level code is
released under LGPL (with some BSD and MIT/X11), not GPL.

small optional part of Vmware that runs on the guest operating system to

Hi,
Vmware has been published under GPL, see
http://open-vm-tools.sourceforge.net/index.php
It would be interesting to know whether Andrew Tucker (who
left Sun for VMware 2 years ago) has been involved in
opensourcing VMware ;-)
