The Jive gateway is slated to be removed. It will probably be

i have an areca 16 port card. the ARC-1216 i believe it is.
supposedly it is supported nicely under solaris/OS too... (i have used areca
products under linux, windows and freebsd myself)
it might be up for sale actually soon (i might be going the path of eSATA+port

That sounds like what I'd do.

It depends on what you mean.
I'd guess that the bits built are usable. I certainly would not
putback any change to ON, though, if my build resulted in lint
dropping core.

Hi James,
Thanks for your explaination. I first tried on nv61 which uses ss11, so, the
compilation was mostly ok, except this error:

I've been doing a LOT of research on SMF and created several manifests and am
very happy with how all the pieces work and the additional functionality that
is now available. The one question that I have been unable to find an answer
to is the reason for this post.

The issue remains that our current supported build environment for ON
uses Sun Studio 11. Other things _may_ work, and there are certainly
people working to make sure that future versions of Sun Studio are
part of the supported too

just use "pkgadd -d" wrapper. it will auto-magically convert SVR4
package to the .deb(s) and install them on the fly. You can also use
"pkgrm" to remove them. pkginfo wrapper is also available.

Thanks for putting up a focused (at least intend to be) thread on the subject.
Now, I've been tracking indiana-discuss last week or so, but still feel there
is a conflict on what indiana should be.
Current consensus seems like indiana is to be a minimum/core distro for other
