I've downloaded and installed Solaris 10 Update 2 in CD form using the ISO
images and have not had any problems with it. That would suggest that Sun's
servers do have a good copy of the files, but that something in between is
causing you get to borked versions as you suggest.

Use readcd(1) to read the CD/DVD and write it into a file.
Then write this again to CD/DVD using cdrecord.

I have noticed that S10-u2-ga-x86-v3.iso.zip and S10-u2 -ga-x86-v5.iso.zip
files seems to be truncated at Sun Download service.
i get 90% of the ISO image 3 and 65 % of ISO image 5
I realise that this can be a problem with a local Caching server in our
vincinity .

To burn the CD:
