I had the same error yesterday. It seems that you have to change the
order of the commandline in this way:
gcc ... .libs/libopenocd.so
/home/vylu/downloads/ftd2xx/extracted/libftd2xx0.4.16_x86_64/static_lib/libftd2xx.a.0.4.16
-ldl -lpthread
