red5.properties and the config.xml
Thanks for help ….

If I record a room session and I try to open the recordings this is the error:
Log:26.09.2012 10:02:40
generateFFMPEG
process-generateFullFLV
error-FFmpeg version SVN-r0.5.9-4:0.5.9-0ubuntu0.10.04.1, Copyright (c)
2000-2009 Fabrice Bellard, et al.
configuration: --extra-version=4:0.5.9-0ubuntu0
You need to rebuild ffmpeg from the sources with libmp3lame support
I would recommend ffmpeg 10.3

You simply did not install the application.
The way to do a basic installation (with using the build in Derby database)
is that simple:
Download the binary ZIP
unpack
double click red5.bat
navigate with your browser to:
http://localhost:5080/openmeetings/installand follow the steps.
Thats it.

Sabastian,
Actually I did all that.
Unfortunately, *much of the installation documentation is very hard to
follow*, and there are *multiple versions* of the docs. So this was not as
easy as you try to portray. In the world of WordPress, this felt like the
dark ages.
I am inclined at this point to
There is only one version of the docs.
This is the version:

We can't control what other write on various places and in their blogs

I agree that there could be done a lot, however the product has been
downloaded over 250.0

1. Is that the only way to get a URL?
2. If so, does that mean I have to load every user manually into the system?
3. Then do I have to invite them 1 at a time?
4. When I try to send and invitation, no email ever gets sent.
Thanks for your help.

David,
1. To the best of my knowledge, yes.
2. I believe you can enter multiple email addresses separated by commas
3. See 2
4. In my setup, I have sendmail on the openmeetings machine relaying mail to my
sendmail MTA. It works; my invitees get emailed invites. Don't know what your
set-up is l
I should clarify 2. As I understand it, you create users so that they can
create meetings. Invitees are, obviously, those people who join your meeting.
Users, then, differ from invitees, but users can be invitees. Get it?

Dimitri,
thanks for the response.
Can you explain what you mean by "sendmail MTA" ?
I have my own website, and I'm trying to use an account on their
mail.website.org.
This shows up in the log file
ERROR 09-26 15:12:43.499 MailThread.java 20920631 150

Got it.
BTW, in poking around, I discovered that when you preset a meeting in the
calendar, you can setup a list of invites from the DB. That makes it a lot
easier.

David,
Sendmail is our Mail Transfer Agent (a fancy way of saying mail server).
Unfortunately, I can't interpret the Java error messages. In Administration||
Configuration, there's are directives smtp_server and smtp_port. You'd fill
those in accordingly. However, your ISP might see mail from
I finally got an email to go.
(1) I changed the server to gmail.com, etc.
(2) restarted the red5 service
came through just fine.
Thanks for all your help.

OpenMeetings has been working fine for a while as admin.
I just restarted the server.
Now when I try to login, I enter the username + password, hit "Sign In"
button,
then I get a box that says "your account is assigned to multiple
organizations, please choose one for this session"

NullPointer exception does not mean that it does not recognize you as admin.
It’s referring to one of the function calls it’s making. On start up or
shutdown, does your system have a scheduler that runs services? It appears as
if the red5 server is unable to locate the function call pointer tha

Since you can see the response in the browser I guess it some kind of
misconfiguration
I'll try to google it if I'll have enough time
