hi,
I had to compile MySQL 5.7 (for internal tests) and attempted to use
dtrace. Looks like it is broken on /hispter (also Berekeley-DB
compilation failed when dtrace is enabled).
Is this general issue with dtrace OR just some parts are broken?
With best regards.

Hi,
I don't know details, but have a look at perco a-server or mariadb components.
Cheers,

zpool remove-ing, physically replacing, booting, formatting and zpool
replace-ing the broken disk fails!
I did
# zpool remove rpool c1t1d0s0 ( This was the broken disk )
halted the system,.
Physically replaced the VERY old seagate barracuda 500GB with a Seagate
ST2000... 2TB disk

I would like to just say that whenever I am trying to compile a
programming language (Haskell, Mono, etc.), it is better to disable
support for dtrace as it makes compilation fail.

I have to say, this is the silliest recommendation ever. A language
without the ability to dtrace it is a language that I won't bother using.

This is not a recommendation. It is something I have seen many times. Since I
wanted to use
some application in the language I disabled dtrace.
Ok, New (not even a) user here, please be gentle.
So I'm considering installing oi as my primary OS. Before I do I have a few
questions.
1. Is the whole system is package based? Like Linux, unlike FreeBSD.
2. Is it recommended for desktop OS, or are you focusing on server
installations?

Depends on what you mean package based. FreeBSD is AFAIK also package
based as linux. They just have Ports as compiling source may not always

Unfortunately updating has been a problem; I have tried repeatedly to
image-update my a7 to a8 or a9, and SunRay services, which is what tis

So, that probably can't happen.
I WILL install a hipster on another server and see if the last licensed

We don't have packages for it. But Tribblix has. So it can be built from

Yes. But not via installer and not recomended. Why no ZFS if I may

Yes, I know. I read lot of good about it. I even visited FOSSDEM and attended
the ZFS sessions. I just don't have the knowledge.

Hi guys,
some days ago I adapted our nautilus-zfs patchset to caja:
https://github.com/OpenIndiana/oi-userland/pull/2394
So caja now speaks "time-slider" but I do not know how to deal with
the localization files.
Can someone help with that?
Kind regards
