Gdm is not 'installed', i checked it yesterday and was not in the svcs list.
But i guessed that it wasn't needed/used by openindiana.
I have a laptop with a nvidia card and thought that was causing the troubles.

Sounds like you used the text installer, which doesn't include the desktop
components, instead of the GUI inst

Thank you all for the support. I'm sorry i didn't mention that i used the
text-installer, from my point of view the textinstaller meant "uses no gui to
install".
I have to get used to the differences between Solaris10 and OpenIndiana. I

Guessing the advice to post at OpenSolaris.com is wrong for openindiana so
post here (if there is a better place, yell and I'll add it there). This is

What is the benefit of using lvm dom0 on zfs? I am not familiar with lvm dom0
but after reading some info about it looks the same as zfs?
Just a question..

Torrents have just been put up.
The initial seeder has rather bad upload, so getting your torrent client to
hash one you've already downloaded would be a good idea (until Jesus Cea &c
is around).

Anyone else seeing similar messages when booting a zone? I've seen

Hello,
First of all, I need to congratulate all those that worked hard to make this
release a reality. Now, I have successfully updated my system to OI_148 from
the previous version. However, I have noticed that the 32bit rge driver is

I've been mentioning this on IRC a lot and filed a bug for it
(https://www.illumos.org/issues/547).
Please be aware that the opensolaris.org publisher should be set
non-sticky to successfully upgrade - if it is not you will not have
fully updated to oi_148.
To confirm if you have or have not
Should the fix automatically work if the global zone and any
non-global zones have been updated from oi147 to oi148?
Mine are upgraded and I'm still seeing the error.
Thanks for the help!

hi Harry,
What is the MANPATH to the solaris cmds that there are also gnu

man -M /usr/share/man ls
is what you're after :)
Assuming your MANPATH is by default:
/usr/gnu/share/man:/usr/share/man:/usr/X11/share/man
so you get the GNU man pages first...
cheers,

Yes, please make sure you have sun...@0.5.11,5.11-0.148:20101122T085724Z:
# pkg info SUNWcs
And you can test the auditset service manually, by running in the zone:
# SMF_FMRI=svc:/system/auditset:default sudo /lib/svc/method/svc-auditset start
This should produce no output if it's working correctl
