I got a NVIDIA video card as a solution or workaround for a different problem with builtin internal graphics; the fact that the Intel CometLake-S GT2 [UHD Graphics 630] is, as far as I know, not supported in OpenIndiana. https://docs.openindiana.org/community-hcl/components/#graphics-adapters

Hi I just tried booting OpenIndiana Hipster 2024.10 on a new PC (AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, Asus Rog Strix X870-A), no video card). I got as far as choosing the language and trying to start video mode, which failed. That's not too much of a problem - I can always install with the text mode installer
