I have a machine whose audio device is properly recognized by the system,I have
tried to play sounds with audioplay using the command
$ audioplay file_example_WAV_10MG.wav
And I could hear the sound. I downloaded the file from the following URL:

I have just had success with getting sound to play on my OI system
I had to logout and then back in after setting the AUDIODEV, I guess.

I have been poking around on my new OpenIndiana and it seems that my audio
is also located on /dev/sound/1
How can I get a configuration somewhere sow that the system uses it instead
of trying to use /dev/sound/0
I put AUDIODEV=/dev/sound/1 in my profile but that does not seem to help

I took a test today! I installed XstreamOS and the sound problem is the
same.
I've done all the ordering suggests either:
# rm /dev/audio
# rm /dev/audioctl
# rm /dev/dsp
create new
# ln -s /dev/sound/1 /dev/audio
ln -s /dev/sound/1ctl /dev/audioctl
# ln -s /dev/dsp1 /dev/dsp
to see settings bef

I have deleted OI on the Laptop for now but I will coming back when the
next stable release will be launched.
I keep OI on my test desktop.

I've been fiddling with sound and discovered that I can use a USB headset so
the Logitech H650e works great.
If I understand correctly :
- Pulseaudio is configured to use /dev/audio (sources/sink)
- Solaris audio /dev/audio point to the proper /dev/sound/[Device number]
