Hello All,
Has anyone tried to use zadm from the omniosCE people under openindiana? I
tried it with an updated hipster-202010 install on VMware Fusion. Limited
success. I was able to get the code from git and it compiled and installed
extremely well. I tried to create an ipkg zone and got e
Hello,
I have Hipster 2020.04 installed as a VMWare Fusion guest with netted
virtualization activated. I tried setting up a KVM zone called ‘flex’. The
zone keeps halting immediately after I issue the “# zoneadm -z plex boot”
command. The only cause I have in dmesg is shown below. Where can
Hello,
Are there any plans to pull in any of the recent additions from omniOS CE
illumos work that introduced LX zones and bhyve? If it is already in the
openIndiana repository, how can I update my current hipster 2018.04
installation to take in those additions? If not, are there any plans
tried using kvm under hipster
last week and it was quite slow. I understand that there has been no
development for a while so it is understandable. Right now I am just happy
using VirtualBox.

Hello,
I read last night that bhyve has been added to illumos. Specifically omniosce
and smartos are said to have it in their latest releases. Is it in the latest
hipster 2018-04 release? I tried finding it as a package system/bhyve and it
did not come up.

Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to install packages from the SFE repository
(http://sfe.opencsw.org/localhostoih) but the pkg command times out each time.
Tried pointing my browsers to the repository home page and they times out. Has
anyone else noticed this issue?

Hello,
Has anyone tried using kvm lately?
I am running Hipster 2017.10 and have all the packages and image updated. I
launch the qemu-kvm command as suggested in the OpenIndiana Hipster Handbook
and the VM starts up but does not go further than recognizing the boot CD

Thanks for the response Alexander. Are there any imminent plans for UEFI

Hello,
I acquired an Apple Xserve 2008 for no apparent reason at all except that I
thought it would be fun to throw OpenIndiana Hipster on it and learn more about
virtualization, maybe set up Plex, NZBget, Sonarr and some other (zoned or
VMed) services and a development environment for data ana
