I've been using the kernel cifs service to access ZFS filesystems from
Windows and Macs for a couple of years, using oi_148.
Today users trying to connect don't get prompted for
username/password. They get a "cannot connect" message.
NFS exports from the OI machine are still working.

for a long long time now. I have been assigning permissions to my ZFS
file systems using the users and groups from AD.
