Zfs detects hardwa
It may be prudent to consider a thermal hardware fault with the suspect
disk. In this case it is possible that the disk was at a lower temp at
the time the pool was defined to which it may have not exhibited a data
fault.
Can you confirm the fault occurs when the disk is hot verses cold?

Well, I am able to install kvm as indicated on the OI Wiki pages, without
getting a crash dump or similar problems, but during bootup the kernel says
openindiana kvm: [ID 469686 kern.warning] WARNING: kvm: insufficient hardware
support (lacking EPT)

1. Create raidz1 zpool.
# zpool create
I configured this from my graphical interface ... but my guess is you
should be able to configure this with nwamcfg (/etc/nsswitch.jon is
/etc/nsswitch.ldap with tweaks):
