Might not be the permissions.
There are at least two, if not three removable media daemons running on a
default install. They tend to get in arguments about who owns the drive. I
discovered this when a UFS flash disk got mounted and I had to reboot the
system to unmount it.

grub2 is modular, so ZFS support exists as an extra module that exists in the
community code base. Legacy grub is a completely different kettle of fish.

I want to mount some NFS shares during the system startup
I have correct (I think) entries in /etc/vfstab (it's verified - see the
rest of the post).

1. When I am using NWAM, then it mounts it *sometimes*, but sometime
