where many modules had to be adapted to cope with jobs instead of

Agreed. We've looked at both and made client specific changes as well. But out
of the box is a baseline requirement.

has someone already written something to migrate data from base_contact in order
to uninstall it?
The goal would be to retrieve data from res.partner.contact and
res.partner.location back to res.partner.address to get rid of this module.
