I updated poppler, but the problem still exists. For 'normal' pdf
files, zooming works fine, the focus adjusts within split seconds
(although not smoothly). But for pdfs such as maps (like the one I
pointed out), it takes significantly longer than for evince or also

I noticed something today that may help you reproduce the problem. This happens
only when perfomance configuration is set to greedy. I set it to greedy because
it handles pdfs very well in this configuration. But
