0.20.4, you mean.
Ask your distro to update to 0.20.5, and then try again.

Because it is about opening PDF documents and (print) previewing them to PS (so
using poppler's PSOutputDev). Wasn't there

It doesn't hang forever. It's just that spectre is unable to render the PS
preview, nothing we can do about that so not reopening the bug.
