[Okular-devel] Export from pdf to txt, invoking from the command line

Hi, I like very much how Okular exports pdf to txt keeping the correct spacing (doing the same with acrobat on windows gave no such clean results). Given that I cannot invoke okular from the command line to make a pdf to txt conversion (or so I seem to understand) which library okular uses to do

actually I'm using Acroread (and I hate it) only because of the "send via email" function. I would like to know if it is possible to have such a feature in near future, or if it will likely not implemented, or only in a couple of years... ?? Many thx seb ___

Hi, yes I tried before pdftotext but the results of Okular are much better for my needs (parsing of pdf documents). I need to parse "csv" or "fixed length" like documents that are unfortunately in pdf format, if anyone has any suggestion on how to parse them without translating them to text...

I agree that okular should not send directly an email, but as written in the report, to pass the file to the email client is a basic function When opening a pdf in the web-browser with okular, if you don't have such a feature, you have to save it first, then open the filebrowser, or filepicker...
