just wanted to confirm that this bug seems to be gone in openSuSE 11.2, so I
guess this is not a KDE issue. I am now enjoying KDE SC 4.4 RC2, thanks for the

Do you think it's likely that the problem is with poppler, given that these PDF
files worked with okular from KDE 4.3, using the same poppler version?

It does not happen with every PDF, but with all the ones that I have created
with pdflatex recently. An example is
