I actually used the red squares to highlight a really minor glitch in the
thumbnail rendering.
If there's a - at the end of a line, it is rendered in this case as a little

I can confirm that bug, but there's a even better variant for the forward
search than using the -p option that already works. Use this definition in
your .emacs:

I'm in favor of blaming the drivers for that given comments from #37 and my own
experience (works for me)
Can those that have the problem see if running okular with "--graphicssystem
