Ok, I can confirm the RESOLVED UPSTRAM.
I saw that libpoppler4 0.10.1 recieved a patch fromthe openSUSE repositories
which caused the trouble. Removing the patch fixed the issue. But sinc

It does not happen with every PDF, but with all the ones that I have created
with pdflatex recently. An example is
