I used "Save as". If that's not intended to work for saving files from mails
and the web maybe it should be dropped completely and be replaced by "Save copy

Are you using "Save as" or "Save copy as"?
If you want a verbatim copy of your document, you are strongly suggested to use
the "save copy as" function.

Can you try running okular from a terminal (after enabling okular's debug areas
in `kdebugdialog`), and see whether you have anything suspicious there?

Please verify whether it works in KDE 4.3.x or not. Current trunk potentially
