an estimated 120 snow geese flying relatively low
over Pruyn Audubon Sanctuary,
about 200ft above tree top level,

Viewed last 2 hrs by Saw Mill River Audubon group during out annual seed sale
Bird is feeding on and in porcelain berries along stream bank by parking lot.

A black-bellied plover was feeding on the low tide mud flats by the Croton
train station 8:30-9:00am morning with a group of three killdeer.
Two eastern kingbirds were flycatching and vocalizing nearby and a group of
eight Canada goose goslings (perhaps a week old) were also seen with two
nearby a
habitat management at Croton Point Park. More details on initial
management changes proposed for this year are available.)

An adult red-headed woodpecker was well seen at Muscoot Farm in
Westchester around 8am this morning by Paul Lewis and Jim Jones. It
was not relocated this afternoon.
When seen, it was in dead snag along the main farm road from the
parking area through the pastures just past a mulberry tree. (This
The two Caspian terns were still on the sandbar just up river from boat ramp at
Croton River as of 8:50am in group with 26 Ring-billed gulls and one Great
black-backed gull.

Dusk at Croton Point County Park tonight, a harrier skimming the grass tops
put up a flock of 27 snow buntings which landed on a nearby gravel path
offering a great scope view. Three American pipit flyovers as well.

We've just received news that an emaciated snowy owl too weak to fly was
picked up yesterday at the Hollow Brook Golf Club, Cortlandt Manor,
northern Westchester County by a wildlife rehabilitators and taken to a
local veterinarian for care. Sad news today is that it did not survive.
