There was an obvious fresh influx of birds even after many recently strong
migration-nights and days, with Wednesday 9/15 providing likely firsts of the
season of some species in N.Y. County, including Ring-n
Snowy Plover continues along the
lake shore near the outlet, feeding on tiger beetles. A nice variety of birds
on the pond side include Baird’s Sandpiper, Red Knot, and Golden-Plover,
Forsters and Caspian Terns.
