I made the changes and unfortunately couldn't make it work. Later realised
that we are running a Nginx Controller in GKE env., So assuming that the
restriction changes should be done at controller level and not in the Nginx
(not very sure).

I'm not sure if it's possible to use TLS without a certificate in nginx,
but you can use OpenSSL to generate a CA certificate and server
certificate and deploy it to nginx, as well as trust the CA certificate
in the client:
