BookMaker does if appropriate. But it is unlikely that the OP went via
BM.

Check the preferences - General group, 'Add URLs to main book'.
If this is ticked, BookMaker will put add any new URLs at the botton of
the hotlist.
If it isn't, adding a URL will put up a menu of folders to choose from.

However, as soon as I resize the page it renders properly.

No problem with view source for me (Iyonix & ARMini, both 5.20).

The website
http://www.dictionary.com/
is supposed to have a field where one can type in a word to look up.
This field is either not present or invisible in NetSurf CI#2600.

Could you point me at it? I may (emphasize _may_, not _will_) be able
to take on some new development work in a few weeks.
I've hesitated to volunteer for NetSurf in the past because Real Life
has been getting in the way of my hobby developments for the last few
years, b
patch to Netsurf, so that it checks on exit
for the use of a foreign hotlist manager, and avoid saving the hotlist
if one is in use. It's a bit daunting, as I'm going to have to start
from building a GCC environment on a virtual machine.

nager? I've just had a play with build #4070 and
this seems to be the case, but confirmation would be nice.
If so, I can fix BookMaker to allow saves even if Netsurf is running.

You are a star 8-)
I'll get to tweaking BookMaker so it no longer blocks save if NetSurf
is running.

The obvious one (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/) works OK for me (4437 on
Titanium).
In case it was a Javascript thing, I tried with an without "Disable
Javascript) and it worked (or at least, didn't crash) in either c
elp here.

This is because the fonts you specify are defaults - what to use if the
web page doesn't include font information. Consequently, it only needs
8-bit fonts.

I may be trying to do something different to what you meant, but if so
your description wasn't as clear as it needs to be.
