Technical resources for Open Access Fiber Networks?

2021-06-10 Thread Mark Leonard
Hi NANOG, Not so long ago I learned about Open Access Fiber Networks. I'm quite curious about how these are actually implemented. I'm able to find boatloads of marketing material and management-targeted boilerplate, but I've not yet been able to find any technical resources. My first thoughts w

You could modify a radix tree to include a consolidation function and resulting confidence. Then walk the nodes of the tree, check to see if the subtree meets the requirements for consolidation, if so, prune and record the confidence. You would need to re-run the consolidation from the original d

-48VDC supply for home lab?

2014-02-03 Thread Mark Leonard
Greetings NANOG'ers! I have a small home lab which I mostly use for learning and testing. I'm likely to receive some gear that needs negative 48VDC (ie: positive ground). Mains is a typical 120VAC, 60Hz. Can anyone recommend a power supply, reasonably priced, to go from 120VAC down to -48VDC@10

It seems that AlbertaIX is no longer listed on Cybera's list of projects: http://www.cybera.ca/strategic-projects/ In fact, doing a search on Cybera's site yields a whole bunch of dead links: http://www.cybera.ca/search?q=albertaix Is AlbertaIX no longer part of the Cybera project inventory? H

Using Region-X assigned IP space in Region-Y?

2011-03-27 Thread Mark Leonard
Hello NANOG'ers, This is a question that popped into my mind recently. So far my google-fu has not turned up anything of use. Imagine a company that has an RIR-assigned IPv4/23, and has it subnetted into a pair of /24's so that they can have replicated datacenters in two different geographical l
