Sorry to use the list this way but information is hard to come by. I'm
wondering if anyone has any insight with respect to the power and data/cell
situation in Oaxaca Mexico since the quake.
Off list replies are fine if that's better.
We're wresting with a Comcast IPv6 SMTP block and none of the Comcast
postmaster communication tools allows entering an IPv6 address. End result
= brick wall.
If anyone from the Comcast postmaster team is listening, a message off-list
would be most appreciated.
Shot in the dark here, but we're starting to see complaints from a few VZW
customers that can no longer access mail services we're providing on the
usual IMAP and POP ports (secure or otherwise). It only seems to be
happening for users that are getting IPv6 addresses for cellular data. Web

Yeah, its been a while since I had to get involved in this. We have a
customer with their own IPv4 allocation that wants us to announce a /27 for
them. Back in "the day", it was /24 or larger or all bets were off. Is
that still the case now?
Sorry to use the list for this, but if anyone from Atlantic.net is
listening that has any idea of what the status of your cloud situation is,
it would be most appreciated. Usual support channels are resulting in dead
air.
Thanks.
What? Free? Public? How can I NOT connect to that?;-)

I know, completely non-operational and off topic, but have any of you folks
in the DC area seen the CableWiFi SSID around town? Traveling next week
and I can't get confirmation nor denial that my Optimum Online account will
get me wifi access down there.
Sorry to use the list for this, but we're batting our heads against the
wall trying to resolve an intermittent routing issue between OOL cable
modem users and AWS. The usual channels are getting us nowhere beyond
"reboot your modem and your router".
Got a BGP related issue that appears to be baffling your NOC because it
doesn't involve fiber being down.
y assuming that we won't mind having PlanetLab researchers using our
assets as a lab isn't terribly cool.

At about 17:40 EDT today we started seeing traffic from
planet-lab.orgnodes at 25+ US universities all directed at one of our
hosting boxes. Its
all ICMP and high port UDP stuff. Nothing terrible from what we can tell,
but its triggering a constant stream of IDS alerts and auto-blocks. Not

I did this at career day last spring for my daughter's fifth grade class.
They were a bit young to get too deep into the nitty gritty, but they
completely ate up the presentation and it was really gratifying to get notes
and emails (all voluntarily sent) from some of the kids talking about how

We're seeing complaints from VZ DSL customers in the NY area that are unable to
exchange any IP traffic with mail hosts on multiple netblocks. Port
independent. Sounds like auto- blacklisting run amok.
Off list contact welcomed and appreciated.

Marginally operational, but I'm sure there are at least a few folks using
that service as part of monitoring, so it probably bears mentioning.
AT&T appears to be having an email-to-SMS gateway issue. Messages sent to

While its "pile on Comcast night", I'll add that that the Comcast peers with
Cablevision Lightpath are also a mess in New York, Ashburn and Chicago right
now. Have been for at least the last hour or two. According to Cablevision

We're getting a slew of complaints from folks on SNET DSL links in
Connecticut that can't reach two of our prefixes. If anyone at AS

in. The usual support channels aren't yielding much at the moment.

We're being told it's impossible, and somehow this strikes me as

Not exactly operational, but I'm trying to help someone grab a fast-e

Based on reports from customers on both sides of the US, we're
thinking that Global Crossing is experiencing performance problems.
Ingress points into GBLX from Comcast in the east and GoDaddy in the
west are both showing significant packet loss and higher latencies.
