I'm surprised that I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but there's a pretty
comprehensive slashdot article on HTPCs / PVRs and reviews 4 different platform
/ applications of which MythTV is one. Check it out!

All,
When sticky keys are enabled and you're watching live-tv, I notice strange
behavior when fast-forwarding. I would expect that once fast-forward catches up
with livetv, it would automatically "pop out" of fast-forward mode and start
playing. In actuality, it just stays in fast-foward mode an

All,
I'm running Fedora Core 2 and I also run latest CVS snapshots. However,
I think this has something to do with Fedora (kernel) more than
mythmusic. Lately, I'm having trouble ripping music CDs. When I put
the CD in the drive, I see messages in my /var/adm/messages like the
following:

This doesn't look good for those of us that legitimately buy CDs, but then would

I do not see this choppy video with SD content through the firewire.

All,
Following Jarod's new Fedora Myth(TV)ology for FC4, I had a slight
problem with the nvidia packages from ATRPMS. I don't know if this was
something I did wrong or not, but I had to make a symbolic link to get
the NV-GLX extension to load.
Something like this: (I'm not at home)

All,
I've just upgraded to FC4 and used Jarod's documentation. Following the
upgrade, I built mythtv from CVS and I'm having some problems. Hopefully either
some developers or users with similar experience can shed some light:

Ok...so I found that my display is running at 75dpi (bad for fonts). However,
the howto up on mythtv.info is very vague:

Does anyone have advice to give on how to accurately determine and specify your
displaysize in xorg.conf?
Thanks,

All,
Is there any way in linux to guarantee the quality of a ripped CD such as the
Accuraterip database does?
I have already experienced one song (that I've found) that ripped w/ a skip in

All,
Numerous people including myself have hit the "bug" where FC4 prefers to
complain about the buffer overflow that exists in the libcdaudio libraries. I
didn't have much hope that this would be resolved quickly, so I took some time
today to clean the rust off of my C skillz and tracked this do

My roommate has some VCDs that are made in Hong Kong and apparently have two
channels - 1) Mandarin and 2) Cantonese. Apparently you can select which
channel you'd like to use in modern DVD players, but I can't seem to figure out
how to do this in either mplayer or xine. Does anyone know ho
All,
I've just successfully setup my mythtv to use the firewire input with
the Motorolla 6200 and I see that I can view any non-premium channels.
It doesn't see as though the box has been setup to allow premium
channels to output through the firewire. I'm using Comcast. Has anyone

I have an older (probaby 10 years) mitsubishi projection television.
Since I've gotten myth setup over 1 1/2 years ago, I've always had about

All,
Currently I have two tuners in my mythtv .16 box. One tuner has a channel
lineup that is "digital TV" and therefore has channels above 125. It is being
fed through S-video from a cable box. The other tuner is just doing analog
cable (up to 125) and is being fed through coax. The probl
