I just thought that perhaps group rules had permitted the posting of my all
caps subject line. I have nothing but praise for MySQL, it was just this
one threads topic that was impossible to find any info on. :(

thought this should be noted somewhere, since all the documentation, and
every newsgroup posting I've seen all indicate that you SHOULD DEFINITELY
see at least 3 mysqld processes running upon initial startup.

8 was 0.10.
One final note, upon logging in to mysql on the command line, and after
opening several connections on different systems, a "status" returns only
one thread EVER. This cannot be correct behavior.
Any help would be greatly appreciated in this matter.
