I think what Scott meant was to have different colors for the subject,
author, size etc. of all messages in the index.
At least that's what I wanted to do some time ago.
If there are major reasons why not implementing that, I'd like to know
them :-)

so difficult to implement that, but I see, that
motivation is totally gone, if one considers the feature rather
useless ;-)
Unfortunately I'm only beginning to learn C and the mutt-sources are
too big for a beginner to hack on them. But I'll keep trying...
